Beautiful Strength 7 is an original 24x36 inch mixed media piece on gloss paper, created in 2023. Owned by a private collector, the original piece incorporates acrylic paint, newspaper & magazine clippings, colored pencil, permanent and paint marker. The pink hues bring awareness to the cause of breast cancer and symbolize solidarity, strength and hope for all those impacted by the disease. The piece is dedicated to every grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, Godmother and mother figure.  The black silhouette, including the afro hairstyle, highlights the beauty of our blackness which is often ridiculed and dismissed as unattractive.  Add this piece to any space as a powerful tool to raise awareness about breast cancer, inspire action, and challenge existing power structures.
